About Chef Sweetser
Certified Executive Pastry Chef Angela Sweetser is a Las Vegas Sugar Artist and Chocolatier specializing in private events and retail confections. Chef Sweetser has medaled for Artistic Chocolate and Sugar Sculptures through the American Culinary Federation and won Dessert competitions for the International group, Chaines des Rotisseurs. She has competed as a Sugar Artist twice on Food Network, "Halloween Wars" and after the show aired, she opened her own Chocolate & Sugar Art Studio called "Queen of Hearts".
Originally from the D.C. area, Chef Sweetser was raised in Madrid and has been in the Pastry Business for almost 20 years. It was Chef Sweetser's Highschool Art teacher who suggested she take up Pastry Arts for the attention to detail. Working for the Ritz Carlton, Angela was trained by a French Chef who won the Coupe du Monde before working with a Chef that was the youngest to win the same competition.
Chef Sweetser became a Brand Ambassador for a Swiss Chocolate and Tartlet Shell Company, which led to teaching weekend Chocolate Classes at the local Community College and eventually, landed her as Director of Las Vegas Accounts for The Chocolate, Food & Wine Festivals. Headhunted by Le Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts, Chef Sweetser taught the Associate Degree program for Specialized Pastry Technology and after earning her Certification for Executive Pastry Chef was hired to facilitate Accredited Pastry Classes for The Art Institute of Las Vegas.
With such a strong background in Pastry Arts Design, Function and Education, Chef Sweetser leads Recipe Development for the state of Nevada's largest medical and recreational grade edibles facility and produces live Sugar Sculptures for their social events.
Armed with knives and a blowtorch, Chef Sweetser earns her industry reputation pushing classic technique with modern methods. Since opening her own shop, business has exploded. Queen of Hearts hosts weekly High Tea Parties, has partners with Corporate Retail, Medical Rehabilitation, Vegas Tourism and Educational Training.
